LUCIA Dianella caerulea 'DC101' 100mm pot
Obviously you would not use it as a garden border amongst other plants, as it will spread in to them, but on a medium strip, large mass planted areas or along a fence, or as a ground cover it excels. Lucia is by far the fastest spreading Dianella ever.

It has unusual deep mulberry colour flowers, which are bold and prolific. Planted at 6 plants per square metre , it is a low cost drought tolerant ground cover option for mass planting.

Lucia have beautiful mulberry purple flower buds that form in early Spring opening to a 5 petal star shaped flowers with a bluish - purple tinge and yellow anthers in mid to late Spring. Purple berries form thereafter in early Summer.

Lucia forms a dense ground cover with exceptional coverage from multiple rhizome shoots to develop a mat of foliage. This attribute allows it to carpet to ground well and recover quickly from damage.
